The final verse in this year’s Fingal Poetry Festival has been spoken, the last note of music has been struck.
What an amazing time we had – we had poetry on library walls, poetry in libraries, poetry in shop windows, on the streets, in parks, in pubs and a theatre, in a purpose-built auditorium and in a Bridge Club, in schools and outside fish shops, by the sea and even rising out of the sea. We heard poetry in the GAA and in Skerries Mills.

Poems found us in English, Irish, and Irish Sign Language, even French, via Zoom, in film form and in podcasts – drawing us in, pulling us together.

Music was ever present, supplementing and enriching and always uplifting.

What remains now is to express our gratitude to all who helped to make all of this happen – our wonderful volunteers, the dedicated committee, our sponsors and the marvellous support from the community of Skerries.

To all we say THANK YOU, let’s do it all again soon!
