The Ardgillan Creative Writers’ Group was founded in the early 1990s and meets in Ardgillan Castle nearly every Saturday morning at 10.30 a.m. The group gratefully thanks Fingal County Council for their continuous support and the Management and Staff at the castle who facilitate us in every way possible.
In 2019/20 F.C.C. grant-aided three workshops and a writer-in-residence for us.
The members of the group include novelists, memoir writers, playwrights, poets, and every literary genre has been presented for critique. Several members have successfully published their work online; on radio and in book form in anthologies, poetry collections and novels. Some have been shortlisted in literary competitions and awarded prizes.
We have published a number of anthologies, the most recent is Echoes from the Castle which is available from Skerries Mills, the Skerries Bookshop and from group members.
